CALLIMACHUS

αἱ δὲ τεαὶ ζώουσιν ἀηδόνες, ᾕσιν ὁ πάντων

  ἁρπακτὴς Ἀίδης οὐκ ἐπὶ χεῖρα βαλεῖ.

But your nightingales [i.e. poems] live on, whereon Hades, the snatcher of all things, shall not lay his hand.

Epigram 2

μέγα βιβλίον μέγα κακόν.

A great book is a great evil.
